15-Minute Yoga with Friends

Course Description: Studies show a short daily yoga practice with friends is beneficial to your mind and body. (Ok well, that was my study with me being the subject and I feel much better when I do this!) This is a quick session to get your day started. We will sign on to Zoom and have a short chat over coffee and then do a 15-min (approx.) yoga session. Yoga flow via YouTube instructors.
Class Leader Bio(s): Nicole Blatt is not a yoga instructor. However, she started doing this with friends every weekday in 2020 and found it so wonderful to getting the day started, that they continue still. We use YouTube videos from great yoga instructors. Nicole retired from the USAF in 2011 and now has an awesome 12-year-old son named Bodie. Nita Wilkinson joined our coffee-talk yoga group in January 2021 and is a substitute host.
Golf 101

Course Description: This course will cover all aspects of golf for the novice, to include etiquette, terminology, grip, what club to use, etc.
Notes: The class meets at the Shalimar Point Golf Course, a $5.00 per person per session fee to cover cost of all needed supplies (clubs, balls, tees, etc.) will be collected.
Class Leader Bio(s): Floyd Clarkson has been a golf club professional for 20 years and has taught golf professionally for 30 years.
Easy Line Dance

Course Description: Beginner line dance is an introduction to basic line dances. Participation will exercise your brain and heart while you learn the dances done at family gatherings. Even if you don't master them at first, keep trying; a challenge is good for you!!
Class Leader Bio(s): Bunny Klein is a retired physical education teacher. She loves to line dance and hopes you will love it too.
Improver Line Dance

Course Description: This line dance class is designed for line dancers who wish to be challenged beyond absolute beginner. In this class we dance to a wide variety of music. You will learn some of the worldwide top-20 easy dances as well as old favorites. Great exercise and great fun!
Notes: Preservation Hall location is 17 Industrial St NW, FWB
Class Leader Bio(s): Aggie Marler loves to dance! She began in couple's ballroom/country dancing, but fell in love with line dancing at the World Dance Championships 2001. Since then, she has had the privilege to teach line dancing, to deejay at national dance events for more than 10 years, and to teach local classes for more than 15 years.
Zumba Gold Seated Dance Fitness

Course Description: This is a fun dance fitness workout while safely seated in a chair. There are dance routines that work on each of the major muscle groups in a fun way that does not seem like you're working out. This is a 6-week class.
Notes: 6-week class meeting on September 18, 25, October 2, 16, 23 and 30. No class on Oct 9 or Nov 6.
Class Leader Bio(s): Dawn Hamilton has been a Zumba instructor for 9 years. She has Zumba Gold classes in Niceville and FWB. She has loved the joy of dancing and working out with everyone regardless of their fitness level.
Introduction to Tai Chi

Course Description: In the Taoist tradition, a person's well-being depends on the harmony of body, mind, and spirit. This class will focus on helping students find balance and have fun while learning the first movements of the Taoist Tai Chi set.
Notes: This will be a 6-week class meeting September 19, 26, October 3, 10, 17, and 24. Students should wear shoes with flat soles and clothing in which you can move comfortably.
Class Leader Bio(s): Amy Weisberg has been practicing Tai Chi and other Taoist Arts for 26 years. She is certified by the Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA to teach both beginners and those beyond the beginning level.
Yoga with Jacky

Course Description: Let me guide you through a gentle feel good yoga class with Meditation, oils, poses along with some breathe work and a guided Savasana (final resting pose)
Notes: Students must be able to sit on the floor and be able to get up from the floor. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before class starts to set up. The door will close at 10:45.
Class Leader Bio(s): Jacky Huhn is a E-CYT 500-hour certified yoga instructor who has been teaching for 8+ years. She has certifications in Yogafit Warrior, PTSD yoga, and Yin yoga.
Tai Chi at Mathis Martial Arts

Class Leader Bio(s): Kevin Mathis has been teaching Martial Arts in Fort Walton Beach for over 35 years. He is a 9th degree black belt and has traveled and taught all over the world. Kyndall Mathis is a 4th degree black belt proficient in tai chi, taekwondo, jiu jitsu and weaponry.
