Qi Gong Exercise

Course Description: Qi Gong exercises and meditation are made up of postures, gentle movements and breathwork to improve your health and well being.

Class Leader Bio(s): Paco Rabell - during the pandemic while all the gyms where closed and after practicing Tai Chi, I decided to take Qi Gong courses online. I now want to share what I learned with others.

Kindness Rocks - Rock Painting with Trish

Course Description: Using acrylic paints, mixing colors, gluing accessories to rocks, at the end of the course, each student will have decorative rocks which they can keep or give to someone.

Notes: Rocks, paints and brushes will be provided the first day. If students want to continue, they will need to buy some 2 oz. acrylic paints and a few brushes. Note: Such paints can be purchased at any hobby store (Michael's, Jo-Ann's) as can a variety of brushes.

Class Leader Bio(s): Trish Rowe has been painting rocks for several years now. She finds it to be fun and not as intimidating as a canvas. She has experimented with various techniques and is self-taught.

Mindful Art Therapy

Course Description: Art therapy is a therapeutic technique that uses your creativity and artistic mediums to encourage self-expression, emotional processing and psychological healing. You do not have to be an artist or have artistic talent. The primary goal of art therapy is not for you to become an artist, rather more about mindful art as an expression. Helping deal with anxiety, depression, loss, trauma. Another way of coping through artistic means.

Notes: $20 materials fee

Class Leader Bio(s): Karen Butler is an Air Force Veteran and local artist, certified in Art Therapy, with experience in a variety of artistic mediums.

Course Description: A gentle, full body exercise program designed to restore movement in your joints, relieve pain, and increase energy. Developed by Miranda Esmond White and seen on PBS as Classical Stretch.

Notes: Please bring an exercise mat approximately 3/8” thick, since we exercise barefooted. As with any exercise program, please check with your Healthcare provider before beginning.

Class Leader Bio(s): Diane Poff is a Level 1 Certified Aging Backwards®️ instructor and has been teaching for two years. She enjoys helping others experience the benefits of this highly effective exercise program. Diane’s hobbies include kayaking, bicycling, watercolor painting, and traveling.

Course Description: LYBL - Relationships gives you the opportunity to learn and use an understanding of how our minds and our bodies work together to sense, interpret, respond to, and work with all life’s experiences. This understanding, especially, gives you control over and affects your relationships of all kinds. You are invited to share and get help with specific issues. Confidentiality is required.

Notes: Class will not meet on January 15. A $5 fee is requested.

Class Leader Bio(s): Debbie has been a teacher, therapist, and healer her whole adult life. She has a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Clinical and Medical Social Work, and training in the physical and energetic healing arts. She has been in practice for 35 years.

Tai Chi at Mathis Martial Arts

Class Leader Bio(s): Kevin Mathis and his whole family have been teaching Martial Arts in Fort Walton Beach for over 35 years. Kevin is a 9th degree black belt and has traveled & taught all over the world.
