Dog Training - Basic Manners

Course Description: This class will teach basic manners including; sit, down, stay/wait, touch, leave it and recall.The first class will be held at UWF Classroom without dogs.
Notes: This class is geared for dog friendly dogs needing work on their basic manners. Sit, Down, Stay/Wait, touch, leave it and loose leash walking. The first class is mandatory and will be without your dog. You must bring your shot records. We will discuss canine body language, how dogs learn and equipment. Class Leader Bio(s): Nancy Bown is a cpdt-ka positive reinforcement trainer, no shock, prong or choke collars will be used in class. She has taught dog training for over 15 years. She has been an evaluator for Intermountain Therapy Animals for 10 years as well as an evaluator for AKC Canine good citizen. She is the founder of Dog-Harmony, which manages therapy teams for at risk youth and local hospitals.

Course Description: LYBL - Relationships gives you the opportunity to learn and use an understanding of how our minds and our bodies work together to sense, interpret, respond to, and work with all life’s experiences. This understanding, especially, gives you control over and affects your relationships of all kinds. You are invited to share and get help with specific issues. Confidentiality is required. This is a 7-week class, no classes at UWF Classroom Monday January 20, which is MLK day.

Class Leader Bio(s): Debbie has been a teacher, therapist, and healer her whole adult life. She has a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Clinical and Medical Social Work, and training in the physical and energetic healing arts. She has been in practice for 35 years.
Thinking about Morality

Course Description: Ever wondered just what makes a wrong act wrong or a good person good? In this class on ethics, we will look at some of the best tools philosophers have to think about moral concepts like right and wrong, good and bad, and just and unjust. Then we will use those ideas to address real-world ethical challenges.
