15-Minute Yoga with Friends
with Nita Wilkinson
Course Description: Studies show a short daily yoga practice with friends is beneficial to your mind and body. (Ok well, that was my study with me being the subject and I feel much better when I do this!) This is a quick session to get your day started. We will sign on to Zoom and have a short chat over coffee and then do a 15-min (approx.) yoga session. Yoga flow via YouTube instructors.
Notes: This class meets online via Zoom Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs, 0830-0900, 16 Sep through 7 Nov. Join us when you can on these days for an energizing start to your day.
Class Leader Bio(s): Nita Wilkinson is not a yoga instructor. However, Nita and Nicole Blatt started doing this with friends every weekday in 2021 and find it so wonderful to getting the day started, that they continue still. We use YouTube videos from great yoga instructors. Nicole Blatt retired from the USAF in 2011 and now has two awesome 12-year-old sons named Bodie & Ryker.
Essentrics®️ Aging Backwards®️ (New Routine)

Course Description: A slow and gentle workout that focuses on increasing mobility, flexibility and relieving pain and joint stiffness. This routine concludes with 12 minutes of floor work. Essentrics®️ is seen on PBS as Classical Stretch.
Notes: Please bring an exercise mat approximately 3/8” thick and a beach towel. This routine concludes with floor work. As with any exercise program, please check with your Healthcare provider before beginning.
Class Leader Bio(s): Diane Poff is a Level 1 Certified Essentrics®️ Aging Backwards®️ instructor and has been teaching for over two years. She enjoys helping others experience the benefits of this highly effective exercise program. Diane’s hobbies include kayaking, bicycling, watercolor painting, and traveling.
Ballroom Dancing for Beginners

Course Description: We will be focusing on the basic foundational elements of Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, and Swing so you can enjoy dancing at your next social event and a fun, light cardio workout.
Notes: Please come ready to dance in comfortable shoes preferably something that is easy to rotate on a plank wood floor such as flats or shoes without a thick rubber sole. Bottled water is encouraged.
Class Leader Bio(s): Rachel Richey has been teaching ballroom dancing for 19 years. She is born and raised in Destin and has specialized in wedding choreography since 2010. She has done numerous showcases and competitions and now enjoys being a mother, wife, vocalists for the band “Hashtag Swing”, as well as a part-time dance instructor for Destin School of the Arts.

After 9/11 he realized that life was precious and started using visualizations to lose over 220 pounds. His non-diet method has helped thousands of people reach their ideal weight and life goals. Join me as we work through his 12-week program (2 weeks per session) to learn how you can use your mind to finally release what’s holding you back from you ideal life. This is a 6-week class.

Class Leader Bio(s): Holly Brelia has a MS in psychology and counseling, is a registered nurse, massage therapist and retired Army pilot. She is a life-long student and enjoys sharing her knowledge.
Yoga Smorgasbord

Course Description: This class will introduce lesser known Yoga topics with some discussion and some active movement. For instance, discover Yoga Sleep Nidra. Add mudras and mantras to your yoga practice. Take a look at Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga. Practice meditation and explore mapping your breath to asanas. For beginners who want to expand their Yoga toolkits. This is a 7-week class.
Notes: This is a 7-week class starting September 16. You will need a yoga mat. Optional equipment recommended includes 1-2 yoga blocks, a strap and a pillow or blanket to sit elevated for comfort.

Refuse To Be A Victim

Course Description: Refuse To Be A Victim is a crime prevention and personal safety program sponsored by the NRA, teaching tips and tactics students may use to help prepare their own personal safety strategies. Topics covered include the Psychology of Criminals, Mental Preparedness, and Physical, Home, Automotive, Travel and Cyber Security. The program does not teach firearm or self-defense skills.
Notes: A fee for required course material will be collected the first day of class. The fee will be calculated once the course material order is finalized but will not exceed $9.00/student.
Class Leader Bio(s): Ruedi Kaspar is a certified RTBAV instructor. He is a retired USAF officer who has traveled extensively and has a keen interest in personal safety and protection.

Course Description: LYBL - Relationships gives you the opportunity to learn and use an understanding of how our minds and our bodies work together to sense, interpret, respond to, and work with all life’s experiences. This understanding, especially, gives you control over and affects your relationships of all kinds. You are invited to share and get help with specific issues. Confidentiality is required.

Class Leader Bio(s): Debbie has been a teacher, therapist, and healer her whole adult life. She has a Bachelor’s in Education, a Master’s in Clinical and Medical Social Work, and training in the physical and energetic healing arts. She has been in practice for 35 years.
Exercise for Flexibility and Balance

Course Description: Flexibility and balance are two on-going challenges for older adults. This class concentrates on stretching routines to improve flexibility, and on balancing techniques. Students proceed at their individual paces and are encouraged to practice outside of class.
Notes: Bring a mat or blanket for floor exercise.
Class Leader Bio(s): Jean Lee-Jackson, a Registered Physical Therapist, is now a consultant who specializes in home health care. From years of experience, she sees the detrimental effects from a lack of exercise.
