15-Minute Yoga with Friends

Course Description: Studies show a short daily yoga practice with friends is beneficial to your mind and body. (Ok well, that was my study with me being the subject and I feel much better when I do this!) This is a quick session to get your day started. We will sign on to Zoom and have a short chat over coffee and then do a 15-min (approx.) yoga session. Yoga flow via YouTube instructors.
Instructor Bio: Lynn Walton fell in love with our “coffee-talk” yoga group about two years ago and then took the lead all last year. Nita Wilkinson loves our morning yoga routine and has kept our gang going for almost 6 years now.
Notes: This class meets on-line via Zoom daily Monday-Friday 0830-0900. Join us when you can on these days for an energizing start to your day.
JIN SHIN JYUTSU - Wellness at your Fingertips

Course Description: Learn gentle yet effective JSJ self-care practice designed to help release tension, stress, and a host of other physical, mental and emotional issues. This is a 4-week class.
Instructor Bio: Palma is a dynamic Certified Licensed Massage Therapist with extensive experience in Western and Eastern healing techniques for over 28 years.
Notes: Three in-person classes on September 8, 15 and 22, followed by one additional Zoom class on September 29.
Comfortable loose clothing recommended and a willingness to learn.
Tai Chi at Mathis Martial Arts

Course Description: Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that's now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
Instructor Bio: Kevin Mathis and his whole family have been teaching Martial Arts in Fort Walton Beach for over 35 years. Kevin is a 9th degree black belt and has traveled & taught all over the world.
Zentangle (R) Inspired Art…It’s the Next Step!

Course Description: Have you taken an Introduction to Zentangle class and want to learn more about enhancing your Zentangle creations? Then Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA) is for you!
This class requires that you have studied the basics of the Zetangle Method. We will take this meditative art form further as we enhance our original Zentangle drawings with highlighting, color, and creativity. This class will meet on Zoom, and students will be required to purchase their own supplies.
Instructor Bio: Shannon Flynn is a retired classroom teacher who found Zentangle in 2020 and fell in love. She had never before been successful at any visual art form, but the Zentangle Method changed that! In 2020 she attended the international seminar to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and started teaching small classes locally. Shannon also leads an online group of tanglers called Fabtangling Fun as they participate in guided tangling twice monthly. She has been a guest instructor at two Zenjo Zentangle retreats, 2022 in Wisconsin and 2023 in Wales, UK. She was also a guest instructor online for Holly Jolly July 2026. This is a 7-week class, no class on September 29.

Alignment for Life: Lifestyle Choices for Less Pain

Sleep, nutrition, movement, relationships, and mindset all have an impact on how we experience pain and discomfort. Through evidence-based pain education, A4L educates, encourages, and empowers participants to make meaningful lifestyle choices that reduce pain, restore movement, and improve quality of life.
Instructor Bio: Donna Nall lived for 13 years in the uniquely demanding environment of Alaska, where she collaborated with a pain medicine physician to create a course designed to help chronic pain patients improve their quality of life. Donna thrives on opportunities that challenge her mentally, physically, spiritually, and she enjoys helping others pursue wellness so they can continue to serve others. Donna is an experienced instructor and Bible study facilitator with a passion for personal growth and embracing new challenges.
Beginner American Mah Jongg - National Mah-Jongg League (NMJL)

Course Desription: the joy, strategy, and connection of American Mahjong in this engaging beginner-friendly course. Over eight weeks, you’ll learn the fundamentals of this classic tile game- from recognizing tile sets and understanding the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card, to forming winning hands and playing with confidence. Taught in a relaxed and social setting, this class is designed for adults who are brand new to the game. All materials are provided.
Instructor Bio: I am a Fort Walton Beach native, raising my family along the Emerald Coast. I have been playing Mahjong for 2.5 years, and teaching for 1.5 of those years. While my first priority is being a mother and wife, Mahjong has brought joy and connection to my life, and I have found a true passion in sharing the critical thinking and community this game provides. I have taught over 300 people how to play American Mahjong, and when I’m not teaching, you can find me spending time with my husband and kids.
Notes: The first 3 lessons of the class are the most important and will cover the basics of play. Please try to be in attendance.
