Course Description: Want to expand your social skills while having fun? This class will give you an opportunity to do that by learning new equipment and card games. Come join us and learn some new games and get refreshed on old standards.
Class Leader Bio(s): Karen Lauer is an experienced artist and CLL class leader. She loves to play games and introduced Wizard to the CLL community and camp conferences. Den Lauer is a retired Navy Flight Officer who sat around a lot so he has years of experience playing games!
Notes: 8 -week class meeting September 9- October 28.
Card Sharks - Deal with It!

Course Description: Forgot the rules to an old favorite? Ready to learn a new card game? Whether you're a seasoned veteran or the next rookie on deck, you will learn the rules and tips you need to master six different card games while connecting with old friends and making new ones. This will be a six-week course, meeting on September 9, 16, 23, 30, October 7 and 14.
Class Leader Bio(s): Dolores Noechel is a former Ruckel math teacher, OCSD Instructional Technology and Media Services Specialist, and Assistant Principal at Fort Walton Beach High School.

Cribbage Game
with Annette Seda

Course Description: Practice or learn the card game of Cribbage. Seasoned Players play in pairs for fun and learn about American Cribbage Congress (ACC) and Grassroots local tournament play. Beginners are welcome and will receive plenty of coaching and a written instruction summary consistent with the (ACC) rules. This is a 6-week class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Pete Seda is a former director of the local Grassroots tournament play. Annette Seda is an ACC official tournament judge.

Beginner Mah Jongg
with Donna Gross

Course Description: Learn to play Mah Jongg using the National Mah Jongg League rules.
Class Leader Bio(s): Donna Gross taught Mah Jongg for over 10 years at the Adult School in Chatham, NJ. Newly relocated to FWB, she would like to bring this game to the Emerald Coast. 6-week class.
Notes: 6 - week class meeting September 10,17,24, October 1,8 and 15. Bring an open mind and a pen.
Pickleball - Beginners

Course Description: This class is designed for beginning students of the game of pickleball or those who need a brush up on the basics of the game. During class, we will teach the rules of the game, scoring, serving and game play. The class will consist of 30 minutes of drills and 30 minutes of instructed play.
Class Leader Bio(s): Carol Achtien and Dan Vanaskie have been playing pickleball and teaching beginners’ pickleball at CLL for several years. They enjoy sharing their love of the game with others, especially beginners, focusing on skills but also on the social, fun aspect of the game.
Notes: Please bring a paddle. If you don’t have one, we will have a few extras to borrow. Balls will be provided. Gym shoes are required, preferably court shoes. FWB Rec Center 132 Jet Drive NW FWB
Pickleball – Intermediate (11:30 – 12:30)

Course Description: This class is designed for the pickleball player who has a basic understanding of the rules of the game, knows how to score and can serve and return the ball consistently. The class will be run with 30 minutes of drills and 30 minutes of instructed game play.
Class Leader Bio(s): Stan Budzinski has been playing pickleball for 3 years and loves sharing and playing the sport with others. Danny McKinney has been playing pickleball for 2 years and loves sharing and playing the sport with others.
Notes: Please bring your paddle. If you don’t have one, we have a few that can be borrowed. Gym shoes are required, preferably court shoes.

Tour of Battle Axes

Course Description: This exclusive tour with the staff of Battle Axes will offer a thrilling and unique experience for adventure enthusiasts. Participants will enjoy an overview and participate in axe throwing, archery and batting cages, complete with real time scoring and changing targets. Participants will have to sign a participation agreement release of liability form before the tour. This one-time tour will meet on Monday, September 22, 3:00 to 5:00.
Class Leader Bio(s): Three close friends got together to form Battle Axes – each having their own specialty to invest. Keith Oliver and the staff at Battle Axes have spent a majority of their lives in the community. Keith Oliver is a retired PE coach and started the archery program in Okaloosa County Schools. He led many teams to state and national championships. All staff at Battle Axes are trained in each area of this facility.
