Games Galore

Course Description: Want to expand your social skills while having fun? This class will give you an opportunity to do that by learning new equipment and card games. Come join us and learn some new games and get refreshed on old standards.
Class Leader Bio(s): Karen Lauer is an experienced artist and CLL class leader. She loves to play games and introduced Wizard to the CLL community and camp conferences. Den Lauer is a retired Navy Flight Officer who sat around a lot so he has years of experience playing games!
Notes: This is an 8 -week class meeting January 13- March 3.
Card Sharks - Deal with It!

Course Description: Forgot the rules to an old favorite? Ready to learn a new card game? Whether you're a seasoned veteran or the next rookie on deck, you will learn the rules and tips you need to master six different card games while connecting with old friends and making new ones. This will be a six-week course.
Class Leader Bio(s): Dolores Noechel is a former Ruckel math teacher, OCSD Instructional Technology and Media Services Specialist, and Assistant Principal at Fort Walton Beach High School.
Notes: This will be a six-week course, meeting on January 13, 20, 27, and February 3, 10, and 17, at: Covenant Community Church 1008 Gospel Rd FWB
Beginner Mah Jongg

Course Description: Learn to play Mah Jongg using the National Mah Jongg League rules. This is a 6-week class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Donna Gross taught Mah Jongg for over 10 years at the Adult School in Chatham, NJ. Newly relocated to FWB, she would like to bring this game to the Emerald Coast. Denise Bavarian took the beginner Mah Jongg course in August, 2004. She has become an excellent player and with her help, we will be able to bring the game of Mah Jongg to more people.
Notes: 6-week class meeting January 14, 21, 28 and Feb 4, 11 and 18. Bring an open mind and a pen.
Pickleball – Beginners 10:00 to 11:30

Course Description: This class is designed for the pickleball player who has a basic understanding of the rules of the game, knows how to score and can serve and return the ball consistently. The class will be run with 30 minutes of drills, 30 minutes of instructed game play, then 30 minutes of open play.
Class Leader Bio(s): Danny McKinney has been playing pickleball for 2 years and loves sharing and playing the sport with others. Cyndie Hale knew before she took her 1st lesson she would love the game, has now loved the game for 1 year and loves sharing the sport with others.
Notes: Please bring your paddle. If you don’t have one, we have a few that can be borrowed. Gym shoes are required, preferably court shoes.
Pickleball – Intermediate 11:30 – 1:00

Beginner American Mah Jongg

Course Description: Discover the joy, strategy, and community of American Mah jongg in this engaging, beginner-friendly course. You’ll learn the fundamentals of this classic tile game, including understanding the National Mah Jongg League card to form winning hands and play with confidence. This class is designed for adults who are brand new to the game. Each week combines instruction, guided practice, and play, allowing you to build skills at a comfortable pace. Mahjong is not only mentally stimulating, but also a wonderful way to connect with others and sharpen memory, focus, and strategy. All materials provided!
Class Leader Bio(s): Morgan Smith has been playing American Mah Jongg for almost 2 years, and teaching for 6 months. She is a Fort Walton Beach native and she and her husband of 10 years have 2 beautiful children. When she isn’t playing Mahjong, you can find her volunteering at her childrens’ school.
Notes: No experience or materials required.

Cribbage Game

Course Description: Practice or learn the card game of Cribbage. Beginners take your time to learn and practice. Seasoned Players may play in pairs for fun with some advice and strategy shared. Learn protocol of American Cribbage Congress (ACC) and Grassroots local tournament play. A short, written instruction consistent with the (ACC) rules is provided. This is a 6-week class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Pete Seda is a former director of the local Grassroots tournament play. Annette Seda is an ACC official tournament judge.
