Yoga

15-Minute Yoga with Friends

Course Description: Studies show a short daily yoga practice with friends is beneficial to your mind and body. (Ok well, that was my study with me being the subject and I feel much better when I do this!) This is a quick session to get your day started. We will sign on to Zoom and have a short chat over coffee and then do a 15-min (approx.) yoga session. Yoga flow via YouTube instructors.

Notes: This class meets online via Zoom Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs, 0830-0900,  16 Sep through 7 Nov.  Join us when you can on these days for an energizing start to your day.  

Class Leader Bio(s): Nita Wilkinson is not a yoga instructor. However, Nita and Nicole Blatt started doing this with friends every weekday in 2021 and find it so wonderful to getting the day started, that they continue still. We use YouTube videos from great yoga instructors. Nicole Blatt retired from the USAF in 2011 and now has two awesome 12-year-old sons named Bodie & Ryker.

Yoga Smorgasbord

Course Description: This class will introduce lesser known Yoga topics with some discussion and some active movement. For instance, discover Yoga Sleep Nidra. Add mudras and mantras to your yoga practice. Take a look at Ayurveda, the sister science to Yoga. Practice meditation and explore mapping your breath to asanas. For beginners who want to expand their Yoga toolkits. This is a 7-week class.

Notes: This is a 7-week class starting September 16. You will need a yoga mat. Optional equipment recommended includes 1-2 yoga blocks, a strap and a pillow or blanket to sit elevated for comfort.

Yoga for Healthy Aging

Course Description: Melinda's class will utilize the tools of yoga to foster healthy aging include postures that support and maintain strength, flexibility, balance, and agility. Students will be encouraged to replenish the system with the goal of increasing health-span.

Class Leader Bio(s): Melinda is a E-CYT 200hr certified yoga instructor who has been teaching for 8+ years. She is also certified in Yoga for Healthy Aging, and Yoga 4 Cancer and is a member of Yoga Alliance.

Yoga with Jacky

Course Description: Jacky will guide you through a gentle feel-good yoga class along with some breathe work and a guided Savasana (final resting pose).

Notes: Students must be able to sit on the floor and get up from the floor. Class starts promptly at 10:45. Please arrive at least 15 minutes ahead of time so you can set up for class. Yoga Gentle Flow

Course Description: Yoga Vinyasa Flow is conducive to beginning or continuing a gentle Yoga Hatha practice to improve balance, flexibility and mindfulness. This is a 7-week class.

Chair Yoga Gentle Flow

Course Description: Chair Yoga Vinyasa Flow is conducive to beginners or someone wishing to continue a gentle Hatha Yoga practice seated and/or standing with support of a chair. 7-week class.

Notes: This is a 7-week class starting September 20 and ending November 1. You will need a sturdy chair such as a metal folding chair, a yoga mat, and electronics to connect to zoom including camera and microphone focused on yourself.
