Course Description: You will learn hot and cold wax, as well as the use of griddle and more. You will take art pieces home every class. This is a 4-week double session class (each session is 3 hours long) meeting on September 8, 15, 22 and 29.

Class Leader Bio(s): Helen Harris has been involved with art her whole life, all mediums, with encaustic becoming a favorite. She has been teaching it for about 13 years. She’s a board member or ADSO, OPA, OAA, and owns HH Arts.

Basic Pottery A – September 9 - September 30

Course Description: You will be making a very unique vase that actually has a hole right in the middle of it. This is a 4-week class meeting on September 9, 16, 23 and 30. There is a $40 non-refundable fee. This is the same class as Basic Pottery B. Do Not sign up for both classes.

Class Leader Bio(s): Sherry Cooler has been a potter and instructor for 30 plus years. She loves hand-building and creating pottery with found objects as well as sharing what she knows. Pat Basque will be the co-leader for this course.

Creative Fused Glass A

Course Description: Fused glass creations are beautiful and easy to create. This is not stained glass or blown glass but is known as kiln formed glass. During the 4-week class we will make 4 projects with sheet glass, noodles, stringers and dots of glass. We will fire your projects bi-weekly in our kilns. You’ll learn new techniques in glass every class and can make dishes, suncatchers and two other projects. The art glass we are using is handmade, very unique and beautiful. It is very expensive glass and we fire the pieces in the kiln for up to two firings that take almost 24 hours each. You will be amazed at what you create! 4-week class meeting on September 9, 23, October 7 and 21. This is the same class as Creative Fused Glass B. There is a $45 per class fee ($180 total) to cover materials and firing. If you pay for the classes in full at the first class, the charge will be $40.00 per class ($160 total).

Notes: There is a $45 per class fee ($180 total) to cover materials and firing. If you pay for the classes in full at the first class, the charge will be $40.00 per class ($160 total). This is a 4-week class meeting alternate Tuesdays on September 9, 23, October 7 and 21. This gives us ample time to fire your projects in our kilns. Students need to wear closed toed shoes (like sneakers) in the studio. Eye glasses are required in the studio which we provide or you may use your own. Acrylic Painting - Landscapes/Seascapes

Course Description: With help from the instructor, you will create several acrylic paintings of landscapes and seascapes. No experience is necessary. This is a 4-week double session class meeting on September 11, 18, 25 and October 2. There is a $40 non-refundable fee.

Class Leader Bio(s): Pat Roberts is a local artist. She is an active member of the Arts and Design Society and Okaloosa Public Arts. Pat exhibits as well as teaches at ADSO and HH Arts.

Class Leader Bio(s): Judy Faust loves to travel, and everywhere she goes she looks for museums, galleries and art exhibits to visit. She’s taken lots of pictures and has lots of information she wants to share.

Introduction to the Zentangle (R) Method

Course Description: Bring mindfulness and creative expression together with the Zentangle® method.Zentangle is a mindfulness-based art practice designed for anyone, but especially those who think they have no artistic abilities. If you can write the letters i, c, s and o, you can enjoy this easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Its “anything is possible, one stroke at a time” and “no mistakes” philosophy can bolster your skills for approaching life “one stroke at a time”, with a graceful acceptance of yourself and the present moment, which can improve well-being in all aspects of life. Zentangle is enjoyed by people all over the world. With many free online resources available to continue the journey, you’re likely to find yourself enjoying the connection of many new friends in the amazingly supportive community of “tanglers”. The class will take you from the very basics of the Zentangle Method through the ability to create Zentangle Inspired Art. This is a 6-week class starting September 15.

Class Leader Bio(s): Lynn Walton was happily working as a software engineer for almost 30 years, when Zentangle waltzed into her life unexpectedly in early 2023. She fell in love. She had not previously been engaged with any kind of visual art form, but with the Zentangle Method, she found a new way to explore and express her creativity. In September 2023, she became a Certified Zentangle Teacher. She has since semi-retired in order to have more time to share the joy of this wonderful meditative art form with others

Notes: This is a 6-session IN PERSON class, meeting on September 15, 22, 29, October 6, 20 and 27. At the first class you will need to purchase a Zentangle Toolkit, containing the supplies we’ll use, for a fee of $20.
