with Lynn Walton
Course Description: Do you wish you could draw? If you can write your name, you can learn to create beautiful and interesting drawings with The Zentangle Method. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being, and is enjoyed all over the world. No artistic talent or previous experience is required. This class takes the learner from the very basics of the Zentangle Method through the ability to create Zentangle Inspired Art. Students who complete the 5-sessions will qualify to join a free Zoom group that meets twice monthly and is led by Shannon Flynn, another Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) in the area who also teaches Zentangle through the CLL program some semesters.
Notes: This is a 5-session class. The FIRST meeting will be in person at UWF on October 3 where you will purchase a Zentangle Toolkit for a fee of $15. Classes October 10, 17, 24 and 31 will be online. To participate, you must have access to personal internet plus technology capable of using the Zoom app. If you are a returning participant, you will not need to purchase a new toolkit, but you may need new tiles and pens, which may be purchased in the first class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Lynn Walton was happily working as a software engineer for almost 30 years, when Zentangle waltzed into her life unexpectedly in early 2023. She fell in love. She had not previously been engaged with any kind of visual art form, but with the Zentangle Method, she found a new way to explore and express her creativity. In September 2023, she became a Certified Zentangle Teacher. She has since semi-retired in order to have more time to share the joy of this wonderful meditative art form with others. She has been teaching friends and small groups and now looks forward to sharing it with CLL students.
