Beginner Watercolor Painting - Tuesday 10:15

Course Description: Using Techniques and tricks make watercolors fun! We will cover basic use of the medium, brushes and paper. This will include introducing techniques and practice to paint various subjects such as flowers, trees, landscape, etc. Bring pictures if you wish.
Class Leader Bio(s): Carolyn Williams is the owner of Sand Dollar Cottage, an artist’s cooperative in Navarre. She paints in watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink. She has been painting for about 25 years and has a BS and MS degree. Dorothy Edens is an experienced watercolor artist and multimedia artist.
Notes: $40 class fee for paints, paper and brushes. Students should bring a pencil, two containers for water, masking tape, paper towels, kneaded eraser and any watercolor supplies you have. Please mask if you feel it necessary.
Intermediate Watercolor - So much to learn!

Course Description: This course will build on some previous knowledge of watercolors. Class projects will assist students in using new techniques. Students can bring pictures they might want to use also.

Zentangle (R) Inspired Art…It’s the Next Step!

Course Description: Have you taken an Introduction to Zentangle class and want to learn more about enhancing your Zentangle creations? Then Zentangle Inspired Art (ZIA) is for you! This class requires that you have studied the basics of the Zetangle Method. We will take this meditative art form further as we enhance our original Zentangle drawings with highlighting, color, and creativity. This class will meet on Zoom, and students will be required to purchase their own supplies.
Class Leader Bio(s): Shannon Flynn is a retired classroom teacher who found Zentangle in 2020 and fell in love. She had never before been successful at any visual art form, but the Zentangle Method changed that! In 2020 she attended the international seminar to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher and started teaching small classes locally. Shannon also leads an online group of tanglers called Fabtangling Fun as they participate in guided tangling twice monthly. She has been a guest instructor at two Zenjo Zentangle retreats, 2022 in Wisconsin and 2023 in Wales, UK.
Notes: Zentangle Inspired Art requires that you have studied the Zentangle Method. To participate, you must have access to personal internet plus technology capable of using the Zoom app. Students will be responsible for purchasing their own supplies.

Course Description: Learn more about Artists and the paintings you know and some you will have fun finding out about. This will be a combination of Classes I and II with a few new things thrown in. This is a 6-week class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Judy Faust loves to travel, and everywhere she goes she looks for museums, galleries and art exhibits to visit. She’s taken lots of pictures and has lots of information she wants to share.
Notes: 6-week class meeting January 15, 22, 29, and February 5, 12, and 19.

Tour of Creative Fused - Glass February 6

Course Description: Fused glass creations are beautiful and easy to create. This is not stained glass or blown glass but is known as kiln formed glass. During the 2-hour tour we will make 2 projects with sheet glass, noodles, stringers and dots of glass. We will fire your projects within 2 weeks following the tour date. The art glass we are using is handmade, very unique and beautiful. It is very expensive glass, and we fire the pieces in the kiln for up to two firings that take almost 24 hours each. You will be amazed at what you create! A $30 fee will be collected on February 6 to cover materials and firing. We will meet on February 6 from 1:00 to 3:00.

Notes: We will meet at: Paradise Glassworks 2 David Street, Unit E Fort Walton Beach Students need to wear close-toed shoes in the studio. Eyeglasses are required in the studio which we provide or you may use your own.
Basic Pottery - Session “B” February 10 - March 3

Course Description: You will be making a hand coiled table basket with a motif of your choosing. There is a $40.00 non-refundable supply fee to cover materials. This is a double session, 4-weeks course, Session “B” is the same class as Basic Pottery “A”. Only sign up for one Pottery class.
Class Leader Bio(s): Sherry Cooler has been a potter and instructor for 30 plus years. She loves hand-building and creating pottery with found objects as well as sharing what she knows. Pat Basque will be the co-leader for this course.
Notes: There is a $40.00 non-refundable supply fee to cover Session “B” meets February 10, 17, 24 and March 3. materials. This is a double session, 4-weeks course.
