Yoga Gentle Flow

Course Description: Yoga Gentle Flow is conducive to beginning or continuing a gentle Vinyasa Yoga practice to reduce stress, improve resilience & balance, emphasizing breath with the movement. This is a 7-week class.

Beyond Beginning Genealogy

Course Description: This class goes beyond the content in the “Basic Genealogy” course. Introductory genealogy topics and content will be enriched and expanded to provide greater functionality to your researching skills. Additional techniques and strategies will be introduced to help locate and identify ancestral connections. Standardized methods for documenting and sharing research findings will be demonstrated.
Instructor Bio: Ed Pfeifer is a retired classroom teacher, school administrator, curriculum coordinator, and Deputy Chief of Education for the Department of Defense Dependents Schools in the Pacific Area. He has been researching his family for more than twenty-five years.
Additional Notes: Class participants should be prepared to participate in the research of their family’s history by using the skills and techniques taught in the class. Completion of Beginning Geneaology is NOT required.
The Power of the Mind and How it Influences Our Body

I’ll combine proven mind-body strategies that help to reduce stress, build confidence, improve emotional well-being, and develop a more positive mindset. Through interactive discussions and exercises you'll learn how your thoughts influence your daily life and discover simple tools you can use to create healthier habits, greater resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Instructor Bio: Deana C. Chapman is the owner of DCC Hypnosis, NLP, and Life Coaching Center. She has more than 20 years’ experience in hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and life coaching as well as several years as an NGH certified hypnosis, NLP and life coach instructor.

Course Description: No need to get up and down from the floor! Classes will be conducted seated in a chair or standing position. This is a 6-week class starting September 10.
Instructor Bio: Lura is a Certified 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher. She has been teaching the softer side yoga such as Restorative, Gentle, and Beginners classes for the last 9 years and practicing yoga for 18 years.
Notes: This is a 6-week course meeting on September 10, 17, 24, October 1, 8, and 15. Wear comfortable clothing. Please arrive 15 minutes before class time to prepare for class. Doors will be locked at 1:15 to start on time. Classes will be held at: Symmetry Integrative Health 22 SW Beal Pkwy, FWB, FL 32548. Parking and Entrance is in the back of building on Bass Avenue SW.
Exercise for Flexibility and Balance

Course Description: Flexibility and balance are two on-going challenges for older adults. This class concentrates on stretching routines to improve flexibility, and on balancing techniques. Students proceed at their individual paces and are encouraged to practice outside of class. Bring a mat or blanket for floor exercise.
Instructor Bio: Jean Lee-Jackson, a Registered Physical Therapist, is now a consultant who specializes in home health care. From years of experience, she sees the detrimental effects from a lack of exercise.
Aquacise

Course Description:
It's a low-impact workout that provides a full-body exercise experience, utilizing the water's natural resistance to give an easy and fun workout while minimizing stress on joints. This is a 4-week class meeting on September 12, 19, 26, and October 3.
Instructor Bio: Karen is a seasoned instructor and certified in water safety and has been teaching mindful art therapy now has incorporated water therapy to help get your mind and body on the same page.
Notes: This is a 4-week class meeting on September 12, 19, 26, and October 3. Each participant must sign a pool required waiver.

This is a 7-week class meeting on September 14, 21, 28 October 5, 12, 19 and 26. Bring a yoga mat. Optional equipment recommended includes 1-2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap. Chairs are provided.
Introduction to the Zentangle (R) Method

Course Description: Bring mindfulness and creative expression together with the Zentangle® method. Zentangle is a mindfulness-based art practice designed for anyone, but especially those who think they have no artistic abilities. If you can write the letters i, c, s and o, you can enjoy this easy to learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Its “anything is possible, one stroke at a time” and “no mistakes” philosophy can bolster your skills for approaching life “one stroke at a time”, with a graceful acceptance of yourself and the present moment, which can improve well-being in all aspects of life. Zentangle is enjoyed by people all over the world. The class will take you from the very basics of the Zentangle Method through the ability to create Zentangle Inspired Art.
Instructor Bio: Lynn Walton was happily working as a software engineer for almost 30 years, when Zentangle waltzed into her life unexpectedly in early 2023. She fell in love. She had not previously been engaged with any kind of visual art form, but with the Zentangle Method, she found a new way to explore mindfulness, and acceptance while expressing her creativity. In September 2023, she became a Certified Zentangle Teacher. She has since retired in order to have more time to share the joy of this wonderful meditative art form with others.
Notes: This is a 6-session IN PERSON class, meeting six Mondays from 1:00-3:00 on September 14, 21, October 5, 12, 19, 26. At the first class you will need to purchase a Zentangle Toolkit, containing the supplies we’ll use, for a fee of $20.
