15-Minute Yoga with Friends

$15

with Nicole Blatt

Calendar Sep 18, 2023 at 8:30 am, runs for 8 weeks

Course Description: Studies show a short daily yoga practice with friends is beneficial to your mind and body. (Ok well, that was my study with me being the subject and I feel much better when I do this!) This is a quick session to get your day started. We will sign on to Zoom and have a short chat over coffee and then do a 15-min (approx.) yoga session. Yoga flow via YouTube instructors.

Class Leader Bio(s): Nicole Blatt is not a yoga instructor. However, she started doing this with friends every weekday in 2020 and found it so wonderful to getting the day started, that they continue still. We use YouTube videos from great yoga instructors. Nicole retired from the USAF in 2011 and now has an awesome 12-year-old son named Bodie. Nita Wilkinson joined our coffee-talk yoga group in January 2021 and is a substitute host.

Introduction to the Zentangle® Method

$15

with Shannon Flynn

Calendar Sep 20, 2023 at 1 pm, runs for 5 weeks

Course Description: The Zentangle® Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well-being, and is enjoyed all over the world. No artistic talent or previous experience is required. This class takes the learner from the very basics of the Zentangle Method through the ability to create Zentangle Inspired Art. Students who complete the 5 classes will qualify to join a free Zoom group that meets twice monthly.

Notes: This is a 5-session class, meeting in person at UWF for the first session only on September 20 where you will purchase a Zentangle Toolkit for a fee of $15. The remaining sessions will meet online on September 27, October 11 and 18, and November 1 (no class on October 4 and 25). To participate, you must have access to personal internet plus technology capable of using the Zoom app. (If you are a returning participant, you will not need to purchase a new toolkit, but you will need new tiles, which may be purchased in the first/in-person session.)

Class Leader Bio(s): Shannon Flynn is a retired classroom teacher who found Zentangle in 2020 and fell in love. She had never before been successful at any visual art form, but the Zentangle Method changed that! In 2020 she attended the international seminar to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher. She then started teaching small classes locally and created a group of tanglers called Fabtangling Fun. In August 2023, she will be a guest instructor at the Zenjo Retreat in Wales.
