Criminal Justice: Myths and Mistakes, Maybe?
with Kathy Johnson
$20
Course Description: What happens when the system gets it wrong? We rely on the criminal justice system to dispense justice, right? What does that look like? Does it mean always going for a conviction? What does it mean for the victims? Why do guilty people “get off” through technicalities? How do we explain wrongful convictions? Can we fix that? Lots of questions, I know. You might have just as many after this class!
Class Leader Bio(s): Dr. Kathy Johnson received a BS in 1987 and MS in 1989 in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University. Her PhD in Criminology is from Indiana University in Pennsylvania. She has been a faculty member in Criminology and Criminal Justice at UWF since August, 2000.
