Beginner Watercolor Painting - Thursday 10:00

Calendar Jan 15, 2026 at 10 am, runs for 8 weeks

Course Description: Using Techniques and tricks make watercolors fun! We will cover basic use of the medium, brushes and paper. This will include introducing techniques and practice to paint various subjects such as flowers, trees, landscape, etc. Bring pictures if you wish.

Class Leader Bio(s): Carolyn Williams is the owner of Sand Dollar Cottage, an artist’s cooperative in Navarre. She paints in watercolors, acrylics, pen and ink. She has been painting for about 25 years and has a BS and MS degree. Dorothy Edens is an experienced watercolor artist and multimedia artist.

Notes: $40 class fee for paints, paper and brushes. Students should bring a pencil, two containers for water, masking tape, paper towels, kneaded eraser and any watercolor supplies you have. Please mask if you feel it necessary. **Classes will meet in the Clay Room.**

Course Description: Learn more about Artists and the paintings you know and some you will have fun finding out about. This will be a combination of Classes I and II with a few new things thrown in. This is a 6-week class.

Class Leader Bio(s): Judy Faust loves to travel, and everywhere she goes she looks for museums, galleries and art exhibits to visit. She’s taken lots of pictures and has lots of information she wants to share.

Notes: 6-week class meeting January 15, 22, 29, and February 5, 12, and 19.

Tour of Creative Fused Glass - January 16

Course Description: Fused glass creations are beautiful and easy to create. This is not stained glass or blown glass but is known as kiln formed glass. During the 2-hour tour we will make 2 projects with sheet glass, noodles, stringers and dots of glass. We will fire your projects within 2 weeks following the tour date. The art glass we are using is handmade, very unique and beautiful. It is very expensive glass, and we fire the pieces in the kiln for up to two firings that take almost 24 hours each. You will be amazed at what you create! A $30 fee will be collected on January 16 to cover materials and firing. We will meet on January 16 from 1:00 to 3:00.

Creative Fused Glass B

Course Description: Fused glass creations are beautiful and easy to create. This is not stained glass or blown glass but is known as kiln formed glass. During the 4-week class we will make 4 projects with sheet glass, noodles, stringers and dots of glass. We will fire your projects bi-weekly in our kilns. You’ll learn new techniques in glass every class and can make dishes, suncatchers and two other projects. The art glass we are using is handmade, very unique and beautiful. It is very expensive glass and we fire the pieces in the kiln for up to two firings that take almost 24 hours each. You will be amazed at what you create! This is a 4-week class meeting every other Tuesday, starting January 20. There is a $45 per class fee ($180 total) to cover materials and firing. If you pay for the classes in full at the first class, the charge will be $40.00 per class ($160 total).

Notes: This is a 4-week class meeting on alternate Tuesdays, on January 20, February 3, 17 and March 3. This gives us ample time to fire your projects in our kilns. Students need to wear closed toed shoes (like sneakers) in the studio. Eye glasses are required in the studio which we provide or you may use your own. Dinner, Dining & Decor - Entertainment for the Fun of It

Course Description: Looking for a productive hands-on dining & decorating workshop? Manners, social skills and so much more that is a forgotten art. Socially or professionally these workshops will give you hands on ideas for your next event. Our workshop teaches you the various ways to be creative and utilize your local resources for your decorating and dinner ideas. The workshop is intended to heighten participants' awareness and appreciation of basic table manners, dining skills, and fun decorating in the context of their daily lives. (We will do 1 POTLUCK Dinner at the end of the course). This is 6-week class starting January 21.

Class Leader Bio(s): Juanita Harvin, is a retired Host Nation Relations and Protocol Director. Her European family roots make her efforts in entertaining FUN. She is an Army brat, wife of a Retired AF service member and the mother of 2 DoDDS graduates. Her skills will reflect her previous art and computer educator careers.

Tour of Creative Card Making

Course Description: Discover the joy of creativity and connection in this Kit Card Class. Stampin’ Up! kits are designed to introduce you to the fun of paper crafting. Depending on your chosen kit, you’ll create 6 to 9 handmade cards. Each kit includes stamps, ink, precut pieces, and step by step instructions. Michelle will guide you through the process of stamping images and sentiments, assembling your cards, and adding personal touches to each project. No prior experience is necessary.

Class Leader Bio(s): Michelle Rushing has been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for over 10 years. Today she enjoys all kinds of creative projects including stamping, die cutting, card making, and scrapbooking. Through her Stampin’ Butterfly social media pages, she shares paper crafting tips and projects to help others discover the joy of creating something handmade.

Notes: A fee of $30 will be collected at the door to cover the cost of the card kits.
